About Catherine Shand
My journey to becoming a Photographer
I can't recall ever being without animals by my side. A donkey named Sam and a cow named Rosie were part of my childhood years on our farm.
And always, always dogs. I'm not sure there is a photo of me without a dog. Even at my wedding, my dog was our ring bearer. I currently have three awesome four- legged fur friends: River, Echo and Tonka.

I believe I have always had an affinity with animals. I became a professional pet dog trainer. I hosted a television series with one of my incredible dogs, and even became a recognized Volunteer Canine Search and Rescue team with my Springer Spaniel, River. And currently I am handling our 3 year old Black Lab in Hunt Tests as we go for her Masters title.
When I completed university, my Dad gave me my first camera. And that's when my love of photography began. Combining my two
passions (animals and photography) seemed like the perfect pairing. That evolved to include children - capturing their essence and spontaneity. And the natural transition to photographing family moments and professional head shots followed.
Please have a look at the photos on this website. And, when you are read to capture your special someone (two legged or four legged!), please contact me. I live in the Uxbridge area and service just about anywhere.
